Honda Repair: My wifes 1997 honda accord wont start, delivery problem, honda accord

Question
Hi recently my wife's accord wouldn't start, we knew it was in need of a tune up so we had a tuneup performed by our mechanic.  2 days later the car was acting the same way, it would turn over but wouldn't start. We had it towed to the garage and he hooked it up to a computer and couldn't find anything wrong. So he dried out the spark plugs and eventually it started but he had no idea why. Then low and behold it happened again, we are frustrated at this point, towed it to our mechanic again and again it test fine, he decides to change the temperature sensor and then it started fine. We are a month into this and my wife accidentally left her car door agar over a weekend and it was 15degrees out all weekend and now the battery is dead. We buy a brand new battery and again the car won't start!! Help are there any other sensors, it gets gas, because after turning the key several times and not touching the gas it floods. If I let if sit for awhile it starts for about 30seconds and then dies again.

Answer
It seems like you are having a bad run of luck because I do not believe these problems are all related. I hope you had the battery tested before replacing, because you can jump start a dead battery, but the battery is still good. If you're flooding the engine then that would say there is a problem with getting spark. But when it starts and dies shortly after, then there may also be a fuel delivery problem, filter clogged or a bad fuel pump.
You may want to find another mechanic who will diagnosis the problem, otherwise you will spend a lot of money replacing parts until you find the right one. The problem seems to be intermittent, and those are the most difficult to solve. You may need to find someone who does a lot of work on Hondas.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
