Honda Repair: 92 Civic, water level sensor, windshield wash

Question
I have a problem with my 92 CX. I have a d15b J=Spec. Well I have been having a problem with first my tach and then now my speedo. The tach skips when i hit 5000rpm and sometimes even earlier than that. I can feel the car skip sometimes as well along with it. Recently the speedo also quits. It often will not work until after about 10 minutes of driving and the check engine light will come on. It also skips, but this is very bad. It jumps from 0 - 180. I've been told it could be several different things. The car idles fine and revs fine when not driving, but when i fully accelerate is when the tach tends to act up.

Second quick question, on my 98 Acura EL the windshield wash light on the instrument panel is on and will not go out. there is a full tank of washer fluid though. How can I get it to go off?

Thanks, Jamie

Answer
Weel sounds like you have two problems. One is the tach and I think it is you main problem. Is the tach aftermarket or factory ? It is causing a break down in the coil. It could be as easy as replacing the coil or disconecting the tach. I would try the coil it sounds like it is breaking down under a load. The other is a poasable speed sensor. I think it is probable going out. If you have a check engine light on take it to a shop and let them scan the computer on the car. It will help with the diagnosis. Good Luck  The acura need to disconect the water level sensor. It is on the side of the tank.
