Honda Repair: 1992 Honda Accord/standard transmission, clutch work, earler

Question
Hi,
-I'm afraid I can't clarify this much since the question came from my daughter in CA and I'm in FL.
-About a week ago, she had difficulties shifting into gear. To me of course that sounds like clutch or transmission, but what do I know, someone advised her to check her brake fluid. Well, what do you know. Dry.  Bad master cylinder. She had it replaced. And apparently driving around San Francisco for the past few days there was no indication of anything wrong.
-But yesterday she got on the freeway to head down to L.A. and when she shifted into higher gears, it just revved up like an automatic with a bad transmission. She limped into someplace and called AAA, who hauled her back to SF.  On the drive back the guy suggested that maybe all the earler leaked brake fluid soaked the clutch pads and made them useless, or something like that?  Does that sound plausible or do you have other possible explanations from how I tried to describe it?

Answer
well I dont think so. You could have two problems. One could be the Slave cylinder. The other could be bad gear in the trans. Does the car move at all? I have found that some gear in honda trans strip out from a bad bearing. Dose the clutch work? I mean does it have a petal stiff or goes to the floor. It could be a smoke clutch. If it move i would look into a trans internal problem. Take it to s shop and have them test it . Good Luck
