Honda Repair: Airbag system, acura dealers, airbags

Question
i own an acura, but I figure the parts and procedures are close enough for both types of car. I have a 3.2 cl and my SRS light came on, I took it to the dealership they said the sensor for the airbags is broken and will cost $874 to repair, is that a normal price for such a thing? any idea how I can get it done for cheaper?

Answer
Saar,

I am not sure what sensor you mean. I would guess you mean the control unit.
That is a very expensive part. The thing is  you can't get it aftermarket, and usually only Acura dealers have the knowledge and tools to perform that job.
Sorry to say you might have to bite the bullet on this one.
If it makes you feel any better think of how much safer you will be.
Thanks,
Gene
