Honda Repair: No spark, honda accord lx, 1991 honda accord lx

Question
I have a 1991 Honda Accord LX and I just bought a complete new distributor to put in it because it would not start. I put the new distributor in with the timing TDC and I still have no spark. So do you think that it's the ECU/ECM? If so where would the ECU/ECM be located at?

Answer
Thurman,

When you say "complete new distributor", I am guessing it came with a new coil and ignitor. Did it? Did you have to swap any of the old parts over? If you did, chances are you have a bad ignition coil or bad ignitor. They went bad quite often.
If it came with everything new, then your next best bet would be the main relay. It sits under the steering colmun inside the car. they would go bad in the heat and the car would not start. I would try that first.
The ECM would be the very last thing I would replace. Chances are that is not the problem.
This kind of thing is hard to diagnose over the internet without doing several tests, but like I said, start with the main relay. Let me know your results.
