Honda Repair: Serious loss of power, honda civic dx, consumtion

Question
I have a Honda Civic DX 1993 with 109,500 miles on it. At the end of January, I had to have the distributer replaced. Ever since I have had a dramatic loss of power and increase in full consumtion. When I go up a hill the car slows down and the heat gauge goes up into the red line.
My mecanic can't seem to fix it. Any suggestions. Ps. the car starts fine and idles fine. Trans shifts gears fine.

Answer
David,
When you say ever since, do you mean that the day you picked up the car, it started to run bad, or do you mean weeks after? If it was the day after, then they probally did not correctly install the distrubitor or possibly put the rotor on 180 degrees off. I have seen that a lot. You need to return it and have them go over thier work.
If it was weeks later, then you probally have some other problem going on. You will need to start with basic checks, such as spark plugs, valve adjustment, wires, etc.
Good luck and thanks for the question.
