Honda Repair: Problems starting vehicle, battery cables, john thanks

Question
How are you doing? I have a problem with my 95 2dr honda civic(DX). I cant start it, I changed the battery and it still wont start. I jumped it and it started just fine, but when I shut it off it will not start back up. I am in the Military and I am out here in Italy. So if I need any parts I must order online. I just wanted to make sure what to get. I was thinking that it is the starter. Can you help me please? THANK YOU

Answer
John,
Thanks for the question. Always glad to help someone in the Military out!
Well by reading your question, the only thing it can be is a bad connection at the battery. If you jump start the car, and it runs, then the starter and all other systems are working in the car. Check the terminals at the battery. Are they dirty? Are they nice and tight? Have someone wiggle the battery cables when you are turning the key.
If everything is correct as you explained, there is nothing else it can be. (except a bad battery. I have seen new batteries that were bad off the shelf)
Good luck,
Gene
