I understand Honda rotors (brake discs) warp after 50,000 miles or so. I need to replace my front rotors, is this as easy as removing the tire, swinging the brake assembly up, old rotor out, new rotor in? I did change all by brake pads about 3 months ago without any problems.
SHould I, do I need to replace all 4 rotors, and how would I know what I need to replace. The steering wheel does shutter a little upon hard braking.
Please advise, and I thank you in advance.

John,
You never mentioned what kind of Honda you have. They vary slightly between models. Let me know the model and I will tell you if you should try it.
Thanks,

John,
Replacing your rotors is fairly easy on your car. You already did the brakes, now the only additional work you need to do now is remove the two phillips screws that hold the rotor on, (use an impact driver) and remove the 2 17mm bolts that hold the bracket on. Thats it!
Note. You can save a lot of money and have the rotors cut. They should still be plenty thick to cut. Take it to a honda dealer and it should not cost  you too much.
Good luck
What exactly is an impact driver, and can I try to do the two front rotors first and see that this corrects the problem, or should I do all four. The dealership (Honda) wants to charge 150.00 for two rotors to be resurfaced.

Answer
You can buy an impact driver at Sears. It is a tool that allows different bits to be put in the end of the tool. In your case you need a phillips bit. Then you put the tool on the screw and hit it with a hammer. This forces the screw loose. They are too tight to remove with a regular screwdriver.
95 times out of 100, the problem lies in the front rotors. The rears should be fine.
As far a $150 to cut your rotors, that is way too expensive. Did you tell them that you were going to remove them?? I would call around and tell them the situation. It should not be that expensive. More like $50-100 is more like it.
Good luck
