Honda Repair: 1992 Honda Accord will not start, genuine honda parts, intake tube

Question
I have a 1992 Honda Accord with a lot of miles on it.  It was purchased used.  After buying it the car would not start and a tune up was done and the ignition control module was replaced.  This solved the problem then.

Now, the car has been missing under certain load conditions, especially between 2000 and 3000 RPM.  I have lived with this for a while and now the car will not start again.  There seems to be spark, although it looks weak, and there is fuel at the fuel rail.  The fuel pump sounds like it runs when the ignition is turned on.

When trying to start the car, it does sputter a bit, but not close to starting.  Any ideas?

Answer
Bob,
For a car to run, you need 3 things. Compression, which it sounds like you have, since the car has been running. Two is fuel. You said you had fuel at the rail and I doubt that all the injectors are clogged. (onee thing you can do to be sure its not fuel is to remove the intake tube from the airbox. Have someone crank the car then spray starting fluid down the tube. If it starts, you have a fuel delivery problem) The 3rd thing you need is spark. I think this is where your problem is. Do you have good plugs? (Not aftermarket) Are your wires good? Cap and rotor? You should replace all those things first with GENUINE HONDA PARTS. Then go from there. One common problem with your car was the main relay. Does it not start when the interior of the car is warm? If so, you need to replace the main relay.
Good luck
