Honda Repair: Buzz@ 1800/2000rpm, accord exr, vetec


Question
After dealer replaced time and balance belts on my
1997 accord EXR a buzz developed.They followed a
technical bulletin and replaced springs and bolts
on exhaust pipe section housing the oxygen sensor
but Buzz persists IT seems exhaust related Dealer
says "characteristic of the vehicle" but not there
before Any ideas much appreciated Thanks.Its a 4cyl. vetec

That was a common problem on your car. There were updated gaskets and bolts for the exhaust buzz. As long as they put them on, the buzz should be gone.
I doubt that they did anything to create the buzz while doing the timing belt. They do not get anywhere near the exhaust when doing a timing belt. You were probally just more in tune with all the noises when you picked the car up and just never heard it before. I would look under the car where the A-pipe meets the mid pipe. You should be able to tell by the shiny new bolts if they really did the update.
