Honda Repair: Honda anti-lock brake leak, dirt driveway, fluid leaks

Question
I am fairly familiar with Hondas. I have an Acura and my daugther has a 94 Accord EX with ABS. I usually do the repair work. The other day my daughter noticed a odd noise on startup, a drip underneath and the ABS light came on. The area around the ABS fluid reservoir was wet with brake fluid and the level was nearly empty (about 1" left). I refilled the reservoir, and cleaned the area. The ABS light went out and the ABS appeared (in the dirt driveway) to be working. No leaks the next day. Is it fixed?

Answer
Jim,
Your car is fixed for now until all the fluid leaks out again. Those cars had a problem with the modulator/accumulator assemblies for the ABS. They would leak after time. The part costs about $ 1,200! Not the easiest thing to replace either. You may want to just keep adding fluid at that price. No harm will be done except a messy driveway.
Thanks for the question,
