Honda Repair: Idles good, cant put on load on the motor, oil dipstick, air cleaner

Question
89 Accord LXI 2.0 EFI 189,000 miles
The car ran great, then starting idling bad and dying at a stop.  Replaced distributor because inside was falling apart.  Ran good for an hour and started the same.  Replaced plugs, now idles good but cannot put motor under a load.
Oil dipstick tub smokes when I rack the strottle and have found oil in the air cleaner, assuming there is now oil in the EFI system?
Help!

Answer
Stephen,
Sounds like you have a dead cylinder or two by the way you are explaining it. You need to start with a compression check. Remember, all a moter needs to run is fuel, ignition, and compression. You need to start with the 3 basics first. Do yo have fuel? Is the spark occouring at the right time? Contact me with your results if you need more help.
Good luck
