What makes the vehicle shut off electrically after running for 30 min?  The battery was drained so it was replaced...Autozone checked the alternator and said it was ok...check engine light still on

Hi, Herbert.  If the electrical system of your vehicle is shutting down after 30 minutes, you should suspect that your alternator is faulty or the main fuse in the underhood fuse block is blown.  Many times, alternators will operate normally when cool but fail as they heat up.

You might also check the trouble code stored in your engine control module if you can take the vehicle to AutoZone.  The stored diagnostic trouble code may bear some relation to the problem.
