Answer
Hi, Jessica.  Your car is equipped with a mechanism to vary the intake valve timing.  It works via a solenoid controlled by the engine control module (ECM) and engine oil pressure.  The proper operation of this system isn't necessary for you to be able to operate the car normally, but some of the things that can cause it can also cause more severe issues.

Your oil level may be low, causing low oil pressure.  This, in turn, can cause the trouble code you have, but more importantly, if the oil level gets too low, you can damage your engine.  If your oil is low, add until the level is between the low and full marks on the dipstick.  Then, check to see if you have any oil leaks.  If so, it's a good idea to repair them.

The oil passages to the valve timing actuator may be clogged with sludge.  If this is the case, there's little you'll be able to do about it without spending a lot of money-- I'd expect the cylinder head would need to be replaced.  If the oil in your vehicle has been changed at the proper interval, I expect that this isn't your problem.

The variable valve timing solenoid may be stuck open.  In this case, you'll need to replace the actuator to repair the issue.
