Hyundai Repair: headlights, hyundia elantra, headlamp assembly

Question
how to replace headlights  on a 2004 hyundia elantra

Answer
Hi, Robert.

If you're replacing the whole headlamp assembly, simply unbolt the three 10mm bolts holding each headlamp in place (two on top and one behind) and slide the headlamp assembly out and unplug the electrical connectors.  Then plug in the new assembly and install it with the three bolts removed earlier.

If you're replacing the bulb, remove the cover behind the bulb in question, remove the electrical connector from the bulb, unclip the bulb (a mirror may be handy for looking at the clipping tab), and remove the bulb.  Install the new bulb with the tab in between the two plastic alignment protrusions in the housing (usually up), clip in place, attach the connector, and reinstall the cover.  If it's difficult for you to gain access to do this, you may wish to remove the headlamp as described above.
