Answer
Hi, Reg.  I expect this will be difficult but possible to do on your own.  To be able to do it, you'll need a large snap ring pliers and a lot of leverage to compress the servo to take the inner snap ring out and put it back in with the new servo.

That being said, I've never done this repair.  The largest reason is that the servo almost never goes bad.  If you're receiving a code for the kickdown servo switch, it's much more likely that the problem is internal to the transmission.  If you don't have the appropriate fluid pressure to activate the servo, you'll set the code for the servo switch, as the servo will remain unapplied, and this will be showed by the switch even though the transmission control module (TCM) is expecting the opposite reading from the switch.

If you wish to try the repair, I'd recommend registering for an account at www.hmaservice.com.  There, you'll be able to view the service manual for your vehicle.  As I look at the site, I see Hyundai hasn't made transmission overhaul information for this vehicle on the website, so I'm going to direct you to the 1999 Accent (X3) instead.  If you peruse the transaxle disassembly section, you'll be interested in only the kickdown servo sections.  There isn't any need to remove the transmission, and unfortunately, the disassembly of the servo is listed in separate steps on two different pages.  There are a few sections specifically dedicated to the servo here as well, and I encourage you to look at them as well, but they don't give replacement instructions.
