Hyundai Repair: Camshaft sensor, valve cover gasket, plastic casing

Question
I have an 02 sonata 4cyl. Over the weekend my husband replaced my valve cover gasket. In the process he accidentally broke the rectangular plastic casing to a sensor that was on the front of the round metal piece (while the valve cover was off it looked like this is the camshaft sensor). My question is this while looking at the engine, is the camshaft sensor directly to the right of the valve cover. Also is there anywhere online where we can see a clear diagram of this area of the engine.

Answer
Hi, Elizabeth.  You are indeed describing the camshaft sensor.

There are very nice pictures in the ETM (Electrical Troubleshooting Manual) section of www.hmaservice.com.  Register for a free account there, go to the ETM section and select the MFI control system schematic for your car.  On the fourth page, click on the blue "C05" link for the connector.  Another window will open, showing the connector configuration.  In that window, click "component" and it'll show you a photograph of the camshaft sensor.
