Hyundai Repair: Speed and Cruise Control does not work, sonata hyundai, cruise control module

Question
I have a 2004 sonata,Hyundai that the speed and Cruise doesn't work.  How to fix it?

Answer
Hi, Lv.  There are any number of possibilities why your cruise control will not work, but let's check some simple things first.

Do your brake lamps work?  If both lamps are burned out, this may make the cruise control module think the brake pedal is depressed, causing it to not allow the cruise control to engage.

Does your clock work when you turn on the key?  If so, since it receives power that provides ignition power to the cruise control, you know that fuse is okay.

Check the fuse labeled "cruise" in the dash fuse box.  If blown, replace it.

Check under your hood to see if the cruise control module is plugged in.  If not, plug it in.

Other than that, I'll need some information to provide diagnostic assistance on your cruise control:
1.  Does the indicator on the cruise button on the dash illuminate when you've depressed the button to turn on the cruise?
2.  What is the specific issue you're having with your cruise control?  Does it perform any of the functions for which it is designed?
3.  Does the "CRUISE" indicator in the cluster illuminate if you depress the "SET" button?
