Hyundai Repair: clunking noise when cornering, tie rod ends, hyundai elantra

Question
I have a Hyundai Elantra 2003 in Australia that makes a clunking noise on the front passenger side mainly when turning right. When sitting in the passenger seat you can feel it through the floor. Would you have any idea what might be causing it?

Answer
Hi, Glen.  This type of noise could be caused by just about anything in the front suspension.  Check all the components (sway bar links, ball joints, control arms, subframe, struts, tie rod ends) for looseness or excessive corrosion causing weakening.  This issue could also potentially be caused by a CV joint, but this will typically result in more of a clicking noise.
