Hyundai Repair: knowing type of engine, hyundai elantra, vehicle identification number

QUESTION: Hyundai elantra 2004, 1.6L engine, asian spec.

how/where can i get the information on the type of engine install in my car? is there any information located at the vehicle itself?

ANSWER: If you can give me your VIN (vehicle identification number), I can probably determine which engine you have that way.  (Sorry for not thinking of this earlier.)

This is enough for me to determine the engine.  You have the 1.6L Alpha engine.  I've seen some instances on this engine where the PCV hose gets a hole in it, causing the engine to have an unstable idle speed.  

I still have in the back of my mind that if it was running okay before the head was milled, that it should still be running okay now unless it was overheated again to the point that the cylinder head was damaged.
