Hyundai Repair: driver side electric window not working, mechanical problem, master switch

I have 1996 elentra 1.6 estate, my passenger side window works from drivers' side armrest, but driver's side does not. The window cannot be operated up or down.

Hi, Andrew.  This could be an electrical problem or a mechanical problem.  

If you hear something operating in the driver's door when you attempt to operate the window, you have a mechanical problem with the motor or regulator.

If you hear nothing when attempting to operate the window, you most likely have an electrical issue.  In this case, the easiest place to start you diagnosis is at the connector for the master switch.  You'll then be able to determine the whether there's a problem with any of the inputs or outputs at the switch.
