Hyundai Repair: oil light, oil pressure switch, accend

my oil light came on i filled it up and my light is still on my car is a hyundai accend

Answer
There are five basic possibilities:

1.  Your oil pressure switch is defective, causing the oil lamp to be on all the time.
2.  The wire to your oil pressure switch is shorted against the engine, completing the circuit to the oil pressure lamp and causing it to remain on.
3.  You have a large oil leak and your oil is low again.
4.  The engine is idling too slow, causing the oil pressure to be so low as to cause the oil pressure lamp to come on at idle.
5.  You have a problem with the oil pump or a serious problem with the engine.
