Hyundai Repair: door locks and car not starting, hyundai elantra, 2000 hyundai elantra

Question
I have a problem with my 2000 Hyundai Elantra where the driver's side door lock controls all the locks.  When this lock doesn't work the other locks the car also will not start - no lights on, no radio and no clicking sound when turning the key.  I have to open and close the driver's side door lock several times and then the car will start.

Answer
With all these things not working, you'll want to check the battery and cables.  Make sure the cables are securely attached to the battery, the transmission, and the fuse box and are free of corrosion.

There are enough different things occurring that I'd be surprised if the problem is more than one issue preventing electrical power from reaching the entire car.
