Hyundai Repair: Transmission Shifting, clutch components, hyundai accent

I replaced the engine in my Hyundai Accent 1.6 L.  Now the transmission won't shift into any gear.  The linkage is connected and the shifting arm on the transmission moves freely, but the transmission doesn't engage.

If this is a manual transmission, you may not have switched the clutch components from the old engine to the new engine.

If this is an automatic transmission, the front pump may be broken.  If the torque converter isn't fully engaged in the front pump, it will break the pump when the engine starts.
