Hyundai Repair: Ignition, column covers, exact procedure

Question
The ignition won't turn off.  We had to actually click back and fourth until it shut down.  I have to replace the ignition but would like to know how to do this?  Thank you.

Answer
The exact procedure for replacing the ignition switch will depend on year and model, but typically you'll need to remove the steering column covers and simply unbolt the ignition switch from the ignition lock (one screw), unplug, and remove.

If, on the other hand, you're replacing the ignition lock (which it sounds like you may not need since you say you can turn it back and forth), you'll need to remove the trim cover around the lock (which could be on the dash or the column), turn the lock to the on position, and press a pin into the housing while pulling out on the lock cylinder.
