Hyundai Repair: mil light on, hyundai santafe, car stalls

mil light is on,when accelerating the rpms jump back and forth then car stalls.usually will not fire right back up.idles fine,but accelerating is different story.this is a hyundai santafe 2004 4cyl.i think its 2.7 or 2.4 not sure.any ideas?thank you.

Hi, Rick.  The diagnostic trouble code(s) stored in the engine and transmission control modules are likely the key to me finding out what is occurring here.  Without being able to drive the vehicle, it's impossible for me to tell whether the problem is engine or transmission related.  

AAMCO and AutoZone have advertised they'll check the trouble codes for no charge.  Simply report back the each five digit code, and I can tell you what these codes mean and how to investigate the issue.
