Hyundai Repair: 1998 hyundai excel, forward gears, hyundai excel

The car doesn't seem to have any forward gears, it will go into reverse and run but no forward gears, Is it the transmission or could it be something else?,I'm in Australia.

Answer
There's a *very* small chance that the range switch could be shorted.  Other than that, it's pretty much guaranteed that the problem is within the transmission.  The fact that the car moves in reverse means that the range switch isn't out of adjustment and that one of the axles didn't come disengaged.
