Hyundai Repair: Random misfire, coil pack, excess fuel

Question
I finally got the car to the dealer with the CEL light on and they diagnosed 0P3oo code (random misfire ) They replaced the coil pack and the light is out. My question is shouldn't the spark plugs also be replaced (under warranty) since they are fouled due to this repeated problem.Dealership claims no that they are a wear item my position is they are bad due to a bad part (coil pack) that was covered under warranty. Thanks

Answer
An issue with a coil cannot cause a permanent problem with the spark plugs.  While a coil is not firing, the cylinder in question (and its spark plug) will become fuel-soaked.  While this fuel can cause the plug to not fire properly because of the excessive mixture, as the engine runs, the excess fuel will be burned back off the plug as new air is sucked into the engine with each intake stroke of the engine, returning the plug to proper condition in short order.
