Hyundai Repair: 2000 accent code PO722, vehicle speed sensor, rf interference

Question
Hi, I have a 2000 accent with the 1.5l, when slowing down it will the motor will stall and or run erratic. The error code is PO 722 as well as PO103, How hard is it to replace the output speed sensor (or Pulse generator B sensor) and where on the transaxle is it located. Is it worth repairing with 90,000 miles on it?
Thanks

Answer
The pulse generators come as a pair.  If you're going to replace them, you'll need to replace both.  The input sensor (pulse generator A) is at the bottom front of the end cover of the transmission.  The output sensor (pulse generator B) is on the top rear left side of the transmission.

Before replacing them, you should take the car to the dealer.  Hyundai has released a programming update for this code erroneously setting due to rf interference in the vehicle speed sensor signal.  Replacing the sensors may not do anything to resolve your issue if the reprogramming hasn't yet been done.

This problem *will not* cause the engine to run improperly or stall.  According to my information, diagnostic trouble code P0103 isn't used on the 2000 Accent, so I'd suspect you may have a communication issue with your code reader.
