Hyundai Repair: 1998 hyundai accent, crankshaft position sensor, crankshaft sensor

Question
my 1998 Hyundai accent wont start,it turns over fine it is getting fuel, but when i check for spark there is nothing. is was running perfectly a couple of days ago then it wouldn't start sometimes, but after a couple of minutes would start back up fine, till the other day i parked it and go start it in the morning to go to work and nothing. It has not started back up yet . I've changed the coil pack and still nothing

Answer
The most likely culprit for fuel pressure and no spark is a faulty crankshaft position sensor.  The engine control module (ECM) needs the signal from the crankshaft sensor to determine when to fire the injectors and spark plugs.

If your check engine lamp comes on when you turn the ignition to the on position, then you know the ECM powers up and is probably working normally.

If you have access to a code reader or scan tool, you might check to see if there are any diagnostic trouble codes stored in the ECM.  If you have diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0335 (crankshaft position sensor signal error), there's a very high probability that the problem is in the crankshaft position sensor.
