Hyundai Repair: 2006 SONATA 4 CYL, sonata 4, scan tool

Question
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON RIGHT AFTER I PUT MY DAILY NEWSPAPER. I PUSH UP ON THE WIRE UNDER THE SEAT AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF. THEN LATER ON THE WEEK I DID AGAIN PUT THE NEWSPAPER UNDER THE SEAT. THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ONLY THIS TIME IT STAYED ON NO MATTER WHAT I DO WITH THE WIRING. I DISCONNECT AND PLUG IT BACK IN AND STILL STAYED ON.  NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET THE LIGHT OUT?

Answer
Most likely, there's a poor connection in one of the connectors under the seat in question, either for the seat belt or the side air bag.  The lamp will not go out until the problem is repaired.

You'll need to take the car to the dealer (or other competent repair facility with a scan tool capable of communicating with your air bag system) for diagnosis and repair.  Be sure to let them know exactly which connector was unplugged-- this may help them not recommend unneeded repairs due to diagnostic trouble codes set because a connector was unplugged.
