Question
HOW DO I REPLACE THE INPUT AND OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR ON MY 2001 HYUNDAI SANTE FE 2.7L V6 AWD

Answer
These sensors are located on top of the transmission.  You'll need to remove the air box to replace them.

The input speed sensor is located under the bracket holding the shift cable to the transmission.  To replace this sensor, you'll need to remove the two 12mm bolts holding the bracket in place, and then the one 10mm bolt holding the sensor in place.  Clean around the sensor to prevent debris from dropping into the transmission.  Then, simply pull the sensor out, unplug, and install the new sensor.

The output speed sensor is located farther toward the rear of the transmission almost directly under the brake master cylinder.  It's similar in appearance to the input speed sensor.  To replace, simply remove the 10mm bolt holding the sensor in place, pull out, and unplug.
