Hyundai Repair: 2003 hyundai santa fe 2.7 liter v6, hyundai santa fe, fuse box

Question
fan blower for a/c and heater won't work.  fuse guide is not clear and I have checked what fuses I believe were blown, but those I checked were alright.  Any suggestions?

Answer
You're interested in fuse #9 (10A) in the interior fuse box and the 40A "BLR" fuse in the underhood fuse box.  I cannot see your dash fuse box cover, so I'm not sure how it labels the fuses there, but according to the schematic information, fuse #9 should be the second fuse from the right in the next to bottom row, and provides power to A/C, sunroof, and mirror.

Assuming the blower won't work on any speed, we can eliminate the blower resistor as a possible cause.  The most frequent issue I've seen on Santa Fe is that the blower switch itself fails.  Often, in this case, I can get the blower to start working by pushing/pulling on the fan switch knob.  If you can do this, you've just confirmed that the problem is in the switch.

Otherwise, you'll need to do some diagnosis to find the problem.  I usually test at the blower motor with a test light or voltmeter since I can quickly gather the information required for me to determine whether we have a power circuit issue, ground circuit issue, or blower motor problem.  With the blower switch turned to high speed (and ignition lock in the on position), you should have power in the red/white wire and ground in the yellow wire.
