Hyundai Repair: 1999 Hyundai accent wont start(electrical buzzing noise), hyundai accent, alternator

Question
Hi,
My car makes a low electrical sounding buzzing noise when I put the key in the on position. I don't even need to turn the keys to start the key if it's in the on position it will make the noise. It sounds like the noise is coming from underneath the battery. The car will not start and it wont even make a noise like it's starting, it just makes the buzz noise. It was working fine an hour before and it won't run.

Answer
Hi, Zach.  It sounds like your battery is discharged.  This could simply indicate the need for a new battery, but it's also possible the alternator is not working, and you've gradually drained the battery as you operated the vehicle.

In the former case, you'll need a new battery.  In the latter, you'll need a new alternator and the battery can probably be recharged.
