Hyundai Repair: electrical, 2004 hyundai tiburon, air bag deployment

Question
The airbags on my 2004 hyundai tiburon deployed, now nothing electrical inside the car works including heat, radio, interior lights, speedometer and clock. Will this be expensive to fix?

Answer
The air bag deployment alone will be expensive to fix.  In the event of deployment, Hyundai requires the replacement of numerous components, including the air bags, air bag control module, and air bag wiring harness.

On the other hand, the electrical issues may not be so expensive to get working again, but there's no way to tell until the reason for the problem is located.  It's possible the collision caused a short circuit blowing some of the fuses.  Start with checking all the fuses and replacing any that are blown.  If any blown fuses reblow upon replacement, you'll need to find the short circuit causing the fuse to blow.  If none of the fuses are blown, the collision probably cut some of the wiring.
