Hyundai Repair: Hyundai Sonata 2002 doesnt start all the time, hyundai sonata 2002, hyundai service

Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I have two issues, I'm not sure whether or not they're related.
1/ check engine is always on. i brought my car several times to Hyundai camissa in burlingame, and they never found out what the problem was. they replaced several pieces in the car, the check engine cam back every time. codes are: 'gas leak...' the other is 'electricity problem'. 8 month ago, my battery was dead, i made it replaced.

2/ sometimes, especially after driving, if i stop the car, it may not re-start. as if the car was very cold...

i plan to go on a 3,000 miles around western-us, do you think it is a good idea to rely on my car ??

thanks /jb

ANSWER: Hello JB,
I beleive they are related. But I need more info about the trouble codes. Can you ask them for the trouble codes. Also, most of the parts stores have scanner and can tell you what the codes are. Let me know when you find out the codes so we can try to locate the problem

QUESTION: Hi Expert !
So there are the Error codes i read from hyundai service:
P0455 Evap system - Large Leak
P0560 System voltage malfunction

Gas cap has been replaced, battery too.
I also had a speed sensor replaced few month ago.
This morning, the car started up only the second time.

Answer
Hello again,
These two codes are completely seperate codes. Also, your no re-start problem is not related to any of them. P0455 is basically telling us that your evap system has a large leak. This might be caused by a missing or loose gas cap, faulty purge valve, faulty canister close valve , cracked canister case or a crack on the fuel tank itself. P0560 is showing the main power is or has been below 11.5 V. If you had to jump start your car, this code may be stored. Other than that it might be your alternator, battery or wiring. But, if you do not have any electrical symptoms, this code might be a secondary code and triggered by any other condition. Let's focus on evap leak and no re-start problem for now. For the evap leak, you need to ask your service to perform a manual evap leak test. Sometimes it could be so hard to locate those type of leaks. For the re-start problem , I think your crankshaft position sensor is giving up. It is pretty common on those engines.
