Hyundai Repair: tiburon, failure data, proper maintenance

how many miles can i put on a 2000-2001 tiburon before worrying about expensive repair. and can i get 150k+ before it dies

Answer
After the warranty has expired (which it already has on a 2000 or 2001 Tiburon), none.  Anything can happen at any time.  Even to brand new vehicles.  And to all makes and models as well.  If you were to take failure data, you'd find that failures are spread out enough that it's nearly impossible to tell how long it'll take prior to an expensive repair being needed.

As for the 150,000 miles, I've seen it reported many times.  Keeping proper maintenance on the vehicle will help you reach that milestone and much more.  And again, this applies to most vehicles on the road today, not just the Tiburon.
