Hyundai Repair: Parts needed for 98 Accent repair?, clutch kit, water pump

Question
My '98 Accent hatchback was warrantied for labor by the mechanic I bought it from, and it has some problems.  Another mechanic checked out the car for me and said it needed a new clutch and water pump.  I took it back to the seller for the repairs, and he says the parts will cost me $499 (clutch, water pump, & timing belt are the parts I remember. A couple others were mentioned)  I priced new parts on the internet (a clutch kit and water pump kit) and came up with parts pricing of around $300.  Am I getting cheated or does his parts price sound about right since he's not buying them on the internet?

Answer
I think the parts prices quoted are about right, especially if you're getting more parts than you've indicated.  The seller needs to purchase the parts from someone, and then mark them up to make a profit just like any other business.

For $300, I'm skeptical that you'd be getting good quality parts.  Of course, $499 doesn't necessarily mean the parts quality is better, either.
