Hyundai Repair: Stereo code, hyundai elantra, hyundai dealer

Question
Hi,
What is the code for the hyundai  Hyundai 2003 HM-5064 car stereo?
We have just purchased a Hyundai Elantra 2003 GLS, we have tried entering
1111 and 5 but the stereo only plays for one song then asks for the code
again and plays again for one song then turns off.

Thank you very much

You are my hero if you know

Answer
I had thought Hyundai stopped using anti-theft radios in the 1990s.  Apparently, you have one.  Your radio has its own anti-theft code specific to your radio; there is no generic code.

In any event, we can try the procedure used on the older radios and see if it works.  Turn the radio off, and then, while holding in the #4 button, turn the radio back on.  Hopefully, there'll be a display of horizontal lines and perhaps a number 1 in front of them.  What I'll need to know is the positions of the lines.

The horizontal lines are positioned in a 3x3 array.  You can refer to positions as top row center, middle row right, or bottom row left, for example.  Also be sure to tell me whether the number 1 is in the display with the lines.

As I've begun indicating on the question form, I plan on taking an indefinite vacation or delisting myself because I've been unable to reply promptly to answers.  If you can no longer follow-up with me, you can try providing this information to another expert, if available.  I don't know whether the other expert will be able to decode the lines, and because of the security involved, I'm unwilling to share the key to decoding.  If no other experts are available, you'll probably need to remove your radio to get the serial number off of it and then take that serial number to your local Hyundai dealer for them to retrieve the code from Hyundai.
