Is it possible/practical to disable or tone down the seatbelt chime in the 06 Sonata?


Answer
The chime is located inside the body control module (BCM).  I've heard that some people, finding this noise very irritating, have placed some electrical tape over the speaker grille on the BCM.  The BCM is located behind the driver's side of the dash.  If in doubt, follow the chime.

Of course, I recommend wearing your seat belt anytime the vehicle is being operated.  Your seat belt is an important part of the occupant protection system, and not wearing it in the event of a crash can lead to serious injury or death.
