Hyundai Repair: Tire Blew and Ripped Wires Out of my front End!, hyundai accent, fuse box

Question
(2002 Hyundai Accent 1.6L hatchback) Hi and thank you. I was driving on the interstate and my front driver side tire blew out, the tread ripped all the wires apart that ran along the wheel well. I have one set coming from the fuse box area, the a set of two coming from the firewall area of my car. The connectors (yellow, black, and a white one) were all in pieces and wires hang everywhere. What parts do I need to fix this problem and how can I find a wiring diagram to get everything back together? My car will not start at all anymore and this is a horrible time for me since I'm due to have my son in less than a week!

Answer
I once had to repair a car that had this happen.  The wire harness was so badly damaged, I had to replace at least one of the harnesses.  You'll probably need to have your car professionally repaired, or at least wait until you've recuperated from your pregnancy to do the repairs.  This is definitely not a job for someone who's 8.5 months pregnant.

If you can repair the harnesses, you'll need a fair amount of wire, solder, heat shrink tubing, and electrical tape to repair the wiring.  The schematic diagrams can be found at www.hmaservice.com.  You'll need to register for a free account, and the site requires Internet Explorer.  Once you've logged in, go to the ETM (electrical troubleshooting manual) section to see the schematics.
