Hyundai Repair: fuel filter, fuel pump filter, seat bottom

2001 elantra;  i know fuel filter is in tank, but some people say you access it by droping tank others say to remove back seat, which is correct?  ps. if back seat removal is answer, how do you do it.

You can access the fuel pump/filter via either method, but removing the rear seat will be the easier method by far.

To remove the seat, you'll need to locate the two 12mm bolts that hold the seat in place.  They're on either end through the crack between the seat bottom and seat back.  Then, simply pull up on either side of the front of the rear seat bottom to release and remove the seat bottom.  Often, I don't remove the seat bottom but rather pull up on the front of the seat bottom and wedge something under the seat to hold it up while I work.
