Hyundai Repair: Starting, engine control module, accent

Question
I have  a 2000 Accent, and for the past couple of years every so often the car would just refuse to start. The engine will turn over but just not start. I replaced the plugs and wires a yesterday and it started fine afterwards. but when i went to leave for work today it wouldn't start. i found if i let it sit for a few hours it will some times start again.

Answer
It's possible you have an engine control module (ECM) problem.  The next time this happens, check to see whether your check engine lamp illuminates when you turn the key to the "on" position.  If not, you'll need a new ECM.  Per technical service bulletin (TSB) 01-36-014, this applies to vehicles manufactured between 6/14/00 and 7/11/00.  The TSB also indicates that the vehicle will start if power to the ECM is disconnected and restored.
