Hyundai Repair: ECU Fuse, hyundai elantra, 2000 hyundai elantra

Question
Hey.. question for you... i have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra 2.0 DOHC.... As I'm driving down the road it will stall on me randomly... i checked the fuses and the only one that seems to blow is the ECU... I've replaced it 3 times and it still does it.. but only randomly.. and one time it wouldn't idle.. it would rev up to about 2 and a half and stay there... any ideas?? I'm stumped!!... anything would help thanks!!

Answer
The most common issue I've seen causing this fuse to blow is the wiring for the rear oxygen sensor rubbing against the right side axle, causing the wiring to short against the axle and blow the ECU fuse.  Ordinarily, the oxygen sensor connector should clip to the brace between the intake manifold and the engine block.  If it will no longer clip on, it's a good idea to tie it on.

By this point, you'll probably need to either replace the oxygen sensor or repair the damaged wiring.
