Hyundai Repair: engine dies, crank sensor, old teeth

Question
I have a 2002 Sonota with about 105,000 miles, the engine has died on my six times only when I'm on a ramp getting on the freeway or on the exit ramp getting off the freeway. I have taken it two different places. They put in a new fuel pump, timing belt, Crank sensor, shaft belt, air condition belt, changed the oil, and fixed the timing on the engine and it still has died. I have been at different levels of gas from a full tank down to about an 1/8. Crank sensor codes are the only thing showing up. After the first time it died it would not start back up, we then had all of the  work done on it and since then it has died 5 times but can be started back up after it dies. Any ideas in what is causing the engine to die?

Answer
If all the codes were cleared after the repairs and the crank sensor code comes back, then it's very likely the problem is related to the crank sensor, its installation, or the wiring between the crank sensor and the computer.

If you have a four cylinder, the crank sensor wire routing is extremely important.  If not routed properly, the various pulleys behind the timing belt cover will rub through the sensor wiring.  Another common problem on the four cylinder is that teeth that strip off the balance shaft or timing belt can get caught in the spacer plate on the crankshaft and damage the sensor by being forced into it.  If the old belts were in poor condition, was the area cleaned of all the old teeth?
