Hyundai Repair: radio cuts out, factory radios, radio cuts

2001 Santa Fe --- radio playing intermittently cuts out --- display screen indicates it's switched to CD --- no CD inserted. Within 10-15 seconds it switches back to radio and then back again. Over and Over. Dealer says it never happens when they're checking for it so they can't do anything.

I've seen this many times.  It's a problem internal in the radio.  The fix is to replace the radio.  

In my experience, factory radios are far overpriced for their overall quality and their sound quality.  You can probably purchase a better radio at a lower price from your local electronics store.
