Hyundai Repair: 99 Tiburon Ignition, steering wheel lock, hyundai tiburon

Question
When I put the key in the ignition my 99 Hyundai Tiburon FX (Automatic 2.o liter) it will not turn at all. this used to happen only every once in a while and it used to be solved by turning the wheel, but now it is happening every time and after 10 to 15 minutes of fiddling with the key it begins, i have tried this with both my keys.
I'd appreciate your help

Answer
As you suggest, the problem you're having can be caused by the steering wheel lock putting pressure on the ignition lock.  Once you've eliminated that, if the problem persists, the problem is either with the key or the lock.  Since you have the same problem with both keys, the problem is probably with the ignition lock itself.  Visually inspect both keys to be sure there is nothing wrong with them (no bends, etc.)  If the keys are okay, you should replace your ignition lock cylinder.  You'll want to do this while the cylinder still turns.  If you wait until the lock no longer operates at all, you'll need to replace the entire steering and ignition lock assembly, which will be a significantly higher parts and labor expense.
