Hyundai Repair: EVAP Emission Control System Leak (small), emission control system, auto parts store

The check engine light went on and I had the error code read and it indicated a small leak in the Emission Control System.  The person at the auto parts store said look for a canister but I can't locate it.  I hope you can tell me where it is located and what to look for to correct the problem.  Thanks for any help

Actually, this problem could be nearly anywhere in your vapor management system.  It's even possible that your fuel cap is loose or crossthreaded.  I'd recommend starting by making sure your fuel cap is properly installed and clearing the lamp by disconnecting the battery for five seconds.  If the lamp comes back in a few days with the same or a similar code, then it's a pretty good bet that an actual problem exists.

Many Hyundais have the canister at the left rear corner of the vehicle, but some have it elsewhere.  To give you a definitive answer, I'll need to know the year and model of your car.
