Hyundai Repair: 2003 Hyundai GSi Spark Problem, accent gsi, crank sensor

Question
Hi HT,

I am a mechanic but unfamiliar with EFI. Was wondering if you could help me with this problem?

Drove car home and parked, went to start two hours later and found no spark by pulling coil wire off. No MIL. Removed plug from Cam Position Sensor and found all terminals open to eachother and ground. Is this normal? Or is this the problem?

Thanks for any help!

Answer
I'm presuming this is an Accent GSi with the 1.6L engine.  Please let me know if I'm off base on this.

In many cases, when there's no spark, the crank sensor is the culprit.  A faulty cam sensor won't cause a no spark condition.

When you say you have no MIL, does that mean it doesn't come on during bulb check, or that it didn't come on to indicate a problem.
