Hyundai Repair: DISCONNECT A/C HOSES, hyundai excel, release tool

Question
QUESTION: HI can you please help..I used a five eighths quick disconnect to remove my old A/C HOSES..it is a blue plactic round disc..now it will not get my 2 last connections off(spring loaded) at the A/C DRIER..can you tell me why I cannot disconnect these?
thanks
ANSWER: Sometimes, these lines get corroded and are difficult to separate.  Here are my tips:

-- Be sure you have the correct size tool.  If I recall correctly, some lines are one size while other lines are a second, different size.
-- Be sure the release tool is fully pressed into the quick connect.
-- Twist the lines so that one rotates inside the other while pulling apart.  This will help break them free.  If the lines are held down preventing this, take them loose enough to allow it.

I refuse to call these fittings "quick disconnect."  I'll buy "quick connect," but disconnecting is a royal pain in the neck.

QUESTION: HI do you know what size quick disconnect to use on this 1992 HYUNDAI EXCEL to remove accumulator(drier) A/C hoses? I still cannot get them off..the others came off w/5 eights blue plastic) but these last two..no go..
hope you can help again! THANKS! :)

Answer
According to the parts catalog, the accumulator uses 5/8" o-rings and the rest of the system uses 1/2" o-rings.  So if the 5/8" tool works for the 1/2" o-rings, I'd suggest using a 3/4" tool for the 5/8" o-rings.

Unfortunately, this was something I never needed to be concerned with.  I have a set of spring-release tools, and just simply picked the one that fit.
